The top of our wedding cake is in the freezer at my parents house.
Mr. Rh and I have been married for almost 6 months. I have heard that the top of the cake is not very delicious if you wait the whole year for your first anniversary, so what I am wondering is whether we should eat it around the six month mark or wait for the anniversary or just eat it the next time we are at my parents house. I understand 1/2 anniversary's are not very special, but I don't want the top to go to waste.
Do you have any experience with this? What did you do? What would you recommend?
(The only bite I had was the bite he gave me at our reception and I definitely don't remember it!)
Actually a lot of my friends ate their top of the cake either at the one month mark of the sixth month so I think you should totally eat it at the six months. It is not good at a year I've heard.
ReplyDeleteMy mom made our cake and we didn't save the top because it wouldn't be good at a year so she is making us a cake for our one year.
We came back from our honeymoon to find that our top hadn't been saved, but I have lots of friends who have saved their top and it's been just fine - the secret is wrapping it really, REALLY well. Thanks for visiting my blog today - hope you'll stop by again! :)
ReplyDeletewe plan on eating ours as soon as we get back to my parents' house!
ReplyDeleteand for your one year you can have a small cake made that looked like your wedding cake!
I say eat it! We had cheesecake and sadly none of it was saved, but it WAS tasty on the day of!
ReplyDeletei agree with the above(kelley). Eat it, everyday is an anniversary anyways! then order a small version for just you 2 on your 1 year.
